I'm a fairly new rider. Only did 1500km so far and about 85% was on my new Yamaha TW200. I'm used to Japanese reliability so I swayed originally more to the Honda. But the KTM 390 just seems so fun. And is still pretty light. I'm 6'3" and weigh about 83KG. Only problem is I'm scared of the KTM brand. Everyone slangs it and calls it unreliable.
Yes, I used the Hyperpro lowering spring kit (sold through Touratech) last season. I would say it lowered the bike very close to the stated 30mm. My bike is the R model. With the preload set near minimum on the shock, the bike had very good cornering manners. Initially I did not shorten the kickstand but did so late summer.
Oddometer: 932. Location: Santa Cruz, CA. The S suspension is night and day better both on road and off, but especialy off. Plus it has much better ground clearance. If you want to go fast get the S, if you're looking for a touring bike get the standard, although at your height you'll look funny on such a low bike.
Quinn Cody, a decorated off-road racer turned KTM R&D rider, provided input on the suspension and handling of the 390 Adventure, which resulted in WP Apex suspension that exceeds expectations.
Published on 09.16.2022. KTM just unveiled an updated version of the 890 Adventure R for 2023, featuring a host of upgrades that include rally-inspired changes designed to boost its dirt prowess and versatility. The new model was launched today at the KTM Adventure Rally in Idaho among a crowd of journalists and adventurers from all over the world.
The 890 Adventure R Rally of course gets a 'rally' riding mode along with a quick-shifter, both are standard. Plus, the ADV also gets carbon fibre tank protectors, anodised wheels, race-tuned chassis and rally footrests. And of course, the graphics on both motorcycles are different too. # KTM Bikes in India # KTM 890 Duke R # KTM 890 Adventure
